Earlier today I read on TUAW that Apple had released updates to all three iLife Applications, however when I clicked on the software update button there was nothing new, it didn’t take long for us to realize that the new versions of GarageBand (6.0.4), iMovie (9.0.4) and iPhoto(9.1.5) were only available through the Mac App Store.

I love Mac and iLife 11. I primarily use iLife 11 iphoto and imovie. I do not use other components of iLife 11 so I can't comment on them. I take very amateur photos and videos of grandkids and have been looking for easy way to make slide shows and videos of grandkids just for family use.
Now however the updates seem to be available everywhere, so go ahead and download the updates either through the Mac App Store or via the ‘classic’ update option through the Software Update.
The changes to the update are listed below:
GarageBand 6.0.4
If you don’t own any of these original versions from iLife ’11 or iWork ’09 (or 1.0 iOS versions) or older Mac versions, you will need to buy iMovie and iPhoto at full price (Mac: $15; iOS: $5), while GarageBand is free for all. IWork apps are $20 each on the Mac, while iOS version are $10. Both the Mac OS X Snow Leopard DVD and Applications/iLife DVD both came with the machine in the 'everything else' wallet in the packaging! More Less Mar 30, 2012 10:26 AM. The single-user version of the entire iLife ’11 package is $49, and the family pack is $79. The family pack lets you install one copy of the iLife ’11 applications on a maximum of five Apple computers at a time, as long as those computers are located in the same household. The iLife ’11 package offers a DVD with the iLife.
This update supports general compatibility issues, and addresses overall stability and performance issues including the following:
• Fixes an issue with the GarageBand Lesson Store not completing single or multiple lesson downloads.
• Corrects issues with some tempo-based effects falling out of sync with main song tempo.
• Resolves problems with Magic GarageBand project files not opening up correctly in the GarageBand tracks view.
The update is recommended for all users of GarageBand ’11.
iPhoto 9.1.5
This update supports general compatibility issues, and also addresses overall stability and performance. Minor issues addressed include:
• The date range of each event now updates correctly to reflect changes made to photos using the Adjust Time and Date command
• Addresses an issue that could cause the Photos view to scroll incorrectly when Event Titles are displayed
• Fixes a problem that could prevent Ken Burns animations from being applied correctly on photos in a saved Classic slideshow
• Deleting photos from a web album using the contextual menu now removes them from the album without deleting them from the library
• Addresses an issue that could prevent a crop adjustment from being removed from a photo when using the Revert to Original command
The update is recommended for all users of iPhoto ’11.
Ilife 11 For Mac
iMovie 9.0.4
This update improves overall stability and addresses a number of minor issues, including the following:

All Mac computers come with the iLife applications preinstalled. But if something nasty happens to your hard drive and you need to reinstall them, or if you have older versions of the iLife applications and you want to replace them with the newest versions, you can purchase the iLife package directly from the Apple Store (either online or in the building).
